Privacy Policy & Data Protection Statement
Last Updated: September 15, 2026
At 210 Gear (“Platform,” “Company,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), we respect your privacy and are committed to protecting the personal information you share with us. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you visit our website, create an account, post listings, or interact with our community services (collectively, the “Services”).
1. Our Core Privacy Commitment (No Data Sales)
We do not sell, rent, trade, or monetize your personal information or user activity data to third-party advertisers, data brokers, or marketing networks.
Your data is used strictly to operate, maintain, secure, and improve the Platform. We do not track your behavior across unrelated third-party websites for targeted advertising.
2. Information We Collect
We collect information directly from you when you register, communicate with other users, or interact with the Platform:
- Account Information: Name, username, email address, password, and state/zip code provided during registration or profile setup, and a preferred FFL dealer if you choose to save one.
- Listing & Community Content: Photos, descriptions, collection showcases (e.g., “Battle Box” displays), and listing details you voluntarily post publicly.
- Communication Logs: Messages sent between users via our internal messaging system, as well as communications sent directly to our support team.
- Technical & Usage Data: IP address, browser type, device information, access times, and system interaction logs collected automatically for security, fraud prevention, and site operations.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, maintain, and optimize platform functionality.
- Facilitate peer-to-peer messaging and listing displays.
- Use your state and ZIP code to find licensed firearms dealers (FFLs) in your state and show roughly how far away they are. Dealer names, addresses and phone numbers come from the ATF's public list of licensees.
- Detect, investigate, and prevent fraudulent activity, security breaches, or violations of our Terms of Service.
- Respond to customer service requests and user inquiries.
- Comply with legal obligations and valid law enforcement requests.
4. User Data Preferences & “No AI” Protection
We respect user sovereignty over digital content and personal data. We offer a dedicated “No AI” Preference Setting within your account control panel.
“No AI” Opt-Out Guarantee:
- Zero AI Model Training: When enabled, your personal data, profile details, messaging logs, listing descriptions, and uploaded photographs will never be used to train, fine-tune, or evaluate artificial intelligence or machine learning models (whether internal or provided by third parties).
- Prevent Accidental AI Interaction: Enabling the “No AI” setting guarantees that you will never be automatically served or required to interact with AI-driven features (such as automated message generators, automated item valuations, or AI chat assistants) while using the Platform.
You may update or toggle your AI preferences at any time in your Account Settings > Privacy & Data Preferences.
5. Account Deletion, Data Purge & Right to Be Forgotten
We empower users with direct control over their personal data, including the right to permanently purge their information.
Self-Service Account & Data Deletion
You may completely delete your account and purge your personal data at any time directly through the platform interface:
- Navigate to Account Preferences > Security & Privacy.
- Select “Delete Account & Purge Data.”
- Confirm your request. Upon confirmation, your profile, personal identifier data, and private account details will be permanently removed from our active databases.
Right to Be Forgotten
If you prefer not to use the self-service tool or require complete erasure of any off-site or cached records, you may exercise your formal “Right to be Forgotten” by contacting us directly at privacy@210gear.com with the subject line “Data Erasure Request.” Upon receipt and identity verification, our privacy team will manually purge all personal data associated with your account from our primary systems.
Note on Retained Data: While your profile and personal data will be erased, limited system transaction logs, law enforcement audit trails, or records necessary to comply with active legal subpoenas, anti-fraud enforcement, or statutory obligations may be retained in encrypted archives in accordance with law. Records of your gear collection are kept in anonymized form, no longer connected to your account, email address, username, state or ZIP code.
6. Information Sharing & Disclosures
We do not disclose your private information to third parties except in the following limited circumstances:
- Service Providers: We may share necessary data with trusted third-party vendors who perform essential infrastructure operations on our behalf (e.g., web hosting, database storage, system security, and transactional email delivery). These providers are bound by strict confidentiality agreements.
- Law Enforcement & Legal Process: We take illegal activity seriously. We may disclose your information to federal, state, or local law enforcement agencies (such as the ATF or local police) if required to do so by a valid subpoena, court order, search warrant, or emergency legal request investigating illegal arms sales, fraud, or threats to physical safety.
- Corporate Reorganization: As part of standard business operations, all user data, account records, and platform assets may be transferred, assigned, or acquired in connection with any merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, sale of company assets, or transition of service to another entity.
7. Data Security & Retention
- Security: We employ industry-standard technical, administrative, and physical security measures to safeguard your personal data from unauthorized access, disclosure, or alteration.
- Retention: Active user account data is retained for as long as your account remains open. Upon account deletion or erasure requests, non-personally identifiable logs may be retained as needed to maintain system security, resolve disputes, enforce our Terms of Service, and satisfy legal compliance obligations.
8. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We reserve the right to update or modify this Privacy Policy at any time. Any changes will be effective immediately upon posting the updated policy on the Platform, with the “Last Updated” date revised accordingly. Your continued use of the Platform after updates constitutes acceptance of the modified Privacy Policy.
